International KSYK

Internationality is a key part of our school’s identity, which is reflected in the representation of over 20 nationalities and 35 languages. Kulosaari secondary school is an active member of the Erasmus+ programme, offering students and staff opportunities for European cooperation and mobility.

During the 2024-2025 school year, the school hosted international guests and exchange students, as well as sent its own students and teachers abroad. Various exchange programmes with France, Italy, and Spain provide students and teachers with intercultural experiences and opportunities to deepen their language skills and worldview. International activities support the school’s values by promoting community, personal growth, and meaningful learning experiences that help students develop into independent, internationally-minded Europeans.

KSYK students

Leirikoulu / School Trip (Middle school): A trip abroad for a lower secondary school group (grades 7-9). These are part of the school’s activities and require pedagogical objectives as well as cooperation with a school at the destination. Funding is raised by the group and divided equally. The school has group travel insurance.

Opintomatka / Study Trip (Upper Secondary): A study trip abroad for an upper secondary school group.

Ryhmäliikkuvuus / Group Mobility: A school trip for either a middle school or upper secondary school, organized in cooperation with a school abroad, which may include a return visit in Finland. Erasmus+ funded trips always fall into this category.

KSYK is an Erasmus+ accredited school that receives EU support. This funding covers travel and program costs, and within the limited budgets, the aim is to allocate support to those in need. The programs emphasize inclusion, digital skills, green thinking (sustainability), and civic participation.

KSYK staff

We are an Erasmus+ accredited school with yearly funding for mobilities and activities for students and staff. Staff members interested in participating in a course or job shadowing at another school or educational organisation in Europe can apply for these opportunities yearly.

The Erasmus+ programme particularly aims to promote inclusion and diversity, digitalisation, environmental sustainability, and active citizenship.

In job shadowing, a staff member will spend 1-2 weeks at another school in an EU country (in addition, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Serbia, and North Macedonia are included).

Visitors

We welcome visitors and job shadowing teachers (Erasmus+, Nordplus, and independent).

We appreciate your interest in our school and look forward to a positive and enriching experience for all visitors.
