From 10am to 2pm Open Doors Day to everyone interested in applying to our middle school. The event will be arranged in the school building. During the day, you can attend lessons and explore our school facilities. We will host two presentation and briefing sessions for 6th graders and guardians starting at 10am and 12pm in Atrium.

Mon 7 Dec 2026

At 6pm to 8pm a presentation and briefing sessions for 6th graders and their guardians. The event will be arranged in the school building.

January 2027

2026-2027 application period will be announced later.

2025-2026 application guide for those from Helsinki:

Fill in the application form in Wilma by 16.1.2026. It is available in English. Please note that the form doesn´t work on a mobile device.
You can choose a maximum of 5 different options. Mark the alternatives in your order of preference so that option number 1 is your primary application option.
The options will be processed in the given order of preference.
If the student is admitted to option number 1, they will not be considered in the admission for other options.
Once submitted, the options and their order are binding and changing them after the application period has ended is not possible.

Those who are not currently studying in Grade 6 at a municipal school in Helsinki:

The form for application to grade 7 is for students who live outside Helsinki or go to a private school will be updated as soon as the application process starts. Use it only if you don’t have access to the Wilma form Transition to Grade 7 2025 through your own Wilma.
The form does not require a Wilma username and password, but a valid email address is required. Write your email address in the field and click “Lähetä varmistusviesti”. Then, go to your email and click on the link in the email that you received from the system to proceed to the form. Once you are there, the form has instructions both in Finnish and in English.
Fill out the electrical application form in Wilma by 16th of January 2026.

Entrance test for the bi-lingual programme will be on Thursday 28th of January 2027.

The exact timetable will be announced later.

Students will be tested in both English and Finnish. Both tests will be conducted on the same day. More information on both tests will be shared during the info sessions.

For the ones interested in the bi-lingual science and technology class a test will be taken on this same day after the entrance test. (Please note the schedule change from the one previously announced!). The exam is bilingual, meaning the same exam has questions in both Finnish and English. To take part in that test contact richard.cousins@ksyk.fi. (Please note the science and technology line is not part of the application process. It is only an internal offer.) No separate invitations to tests. Just arrive on time.

Entrance test for the English programme will take place on Friday 5th February 2027.

The exact timetable will be announced later.

Students will be tested in English only.

March 2027

The admission decisions for applicants selected for the 7th grade of Kulosaari Secondary School will be sent electronically to guardians on Spring 2027. The exact timetable will be announced later.
