From 10am to 2pm Open Doors Day to everyone interested in applying to our middle school. The event will be arranged in the school building. During the day, you can attend lessons and explore our school facilities. We will host two presentation and briefing sessions for 6th graders and guardians starting at 10am and 12.15pm in Central Hall.

At 6pm to 8pm a presentation and briefing sessions will be held for 6th graders and their guardians. The event will be arranged in the school building.

Application period 5.-17.1.2027

2027-2028 application period is from the 5th of January until the 17th (5.-17.1.2027).

Application guide for those from Helsinki:

  • Fill in the application form in Wilma by 17.1.2027. It is available in English. Please note that the form doesn’t work on a mobile device.
  • You can choose a maximum of 5 different options. Mark the alternatives in your order of preference so that option number 1 is your primary application option.
  • The options will be processed in the given order of preference.
  • If the student is admitted to option number 1, they will not be considered in the admission for other options.
  • Once submitted, the options and their order are binding and changing them after the application period has ended is not possible.

Those who are not currently studying in Grade 6 at a municipal school in Helsinki:

  • The form for application to grade 7 is for students who live outside Helsinki or go to a private school will be updated as soon as the application process starts. Use it only if you don’t have access to the Wilma form ’Transition to Grade 7’ through your own Wilma.
  • The form does not require a Wilma username and password, but a valid email address is required. Write your email address in the field and click “Lähetä varmistusviesti”. Then, go to your email and click on the link in the email that you received from the system to proceed to the form. Once you are there, the form has instructions both in Finnish and in English.
  • Fill out the electrical application form in Wilma by 17th of January 2027.

Entrance test for the bi-lingual programme will be on Thursday 28th of January 2027 at 1pm. Applicants should meet in the Central Hall before 1pm.

Students will be tested in both English and Finnish. Both tests will be conducted on the same day. More information on both tests will be shared during the info sessions.

For those students who are successful in the bilingual test and have been accepted to KSYK, there will be a possibility to enter the science and technology (S&T) class. The S&T test for theis class will take place in early April. Students will be informed by email about this possibility, including when and where the test will take place.  Please contact middle school principal Richard Cousins for more information: richard.cousins@ksyk.fi.

No separate invitations to tests. Just arrive on time.

Entrance test for the English programme will take place on Friday 5th February 2027 at 9am.

Students will be tested in English only. 

For those students who are successful in the English test and have been accepted to KSYK, there will be a possibility to enter the science and technology (S&T) class. The S&T test for this class will take place in early April. Students will be informed by email about this possibility, including when and where the test will take place. The admission decisions for applicants selected for the 7th grade of Kulosaari Secondary School will be sent via email to the guardians on 24.3.2027.

Presentation and briefing session evening for the newly selected grade 7 students and to their guardians will be held on Thursday 13th of May 2027 from 6pm to 8pm.
