23. HELIMUN was held in KSYK on 9th and 10th May. Some 350 students and pupils from eight capital area schools took part in Helsinki International Model United Nations. During the conference upper school students guided middle school students through the work of United Nations.
The conference provided an unique opportunity for students to practice their public speaking and language skills and deepen their understanding of contemporary international issues. Our corridors and classrooms witnessed lobbying, dabating and formulating resolutions for two days. Important skills for future policymakers were being practised.
In the middle of the picture is legal advisor Elina Almila who was one of the two guest speakers of the opening ceremony. She talked about war crimes.
